Collected Comfort: A Carmel Home by Maed Designs
This home by Megan Giles of Maed Designs was such a joy to photograph. Megan completely transformed both the primary bedroom and kitchen, creating spaces that feel soft, timeless, and full of charm.
The primary bedroom is layered with beautiful pattern and texture — the green and blue wallpaper, scalloped bedding, and brass details give it a classic, collected feel. We had so much fun styling with the homeowner’s incredible collection of books, ceramics, and art. Every piece had a story, and together they made the space feel truly personal.
The kitchen is just as special — light, airy, and thoughtfully designed. The creamy cabinetry and brass accents are balanced by all the little moments on the counters and shelves: the checkered ceramics, framed artwork, and vintage touches that make it feel lived-in and loved.
Projects like this are my favorite to photograph — when design, styling, and story all come together so naturally. And, of course, Millie the dog made the shoot even better. My newest obsession after this session is Richard Ginori pottery…especially the Oriente Italiano collection! A few pieces will definitely be making it onto my wishlist!
